Green Dot

Unfortunately like any other college campus, power-based personal violence happens at TCNJ too. Power-based personal violence is an umbrella term for sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking. These acts of violence put red dots on our map. Each incident hurts us all.  However, YOU can stop the violence on our campus. You can be a green dot. A green dot is pulling a friend out of a high-risk situation, displaying an awareness poster in your room or office, or posting a green dot message on your Facebook page. A green dot is simply your individual choice at any given moment to make our campus safer. What will your #TCNJGreenDotGoal be?

The Green Dot strategy was developed by Dr. Dorothy Edwards of the University of Kentucky. Drawing on social influence research, Dr. Edwards designed green dots to shift culture by focusing on individual attitudes, behaviors, and statements. Find out more about the original Green Dot strategy at
